BAJURA, AUGUST 2

Bajura District Hospital is facing shortage of oxygen due to poor electricity supply. Due to low volatge power supply, the hospital has not been able to operate the oxygen plant.

The hospital has been producing oxygen through generator.

Dr Milan Joshi said the hospital had been lacking oxygen for some days after the generator also became dysfunctional. He said that the problem occurred in the production of the oxygen after the generator did not get repaired. There is not even a single oxygen cylinder in the hospital.

According to the hospital, patients were compelled to go to another hospital outside the district. A staffer at the hospital Nripa Raj Giri said patients were facing problems due to poor power supply. He added thatpatients requring oxygen were referred to another health facility. The hospital added that oxygen cylinders could not be supplied from Dhangadi due to road obstruction. It was very difficult to supply oxygen cylinder due to obstruction of the Sanphe-Martadi road section. Landslides at Aamkot obstructed the road section.
