RAJBIRAJ, MARCH 27

Preparations are under way in Saptari to honour former crown prince Paras Shah this Wednesday.

The felicitation will be offered jointly by Shreeram Hanuman Aradhana Mandal and Our Campaign for the Restoration of 1990 Constitution.

At a press conference organised here today, the campaign's central coordinator Kishori Mahato said a 501-member main ceremony committee led by Dev Narayan has been formed. "The former crown prince will offer prayers at Kanalini Mandir of Bhardaha and Hanuman Mandir of Hanumannagar before being honoured at the Barmajhiya playground of Kanchanrup Municipality," said Mahato.

On his part, Shreeram Hanuman Aradhana Mandal's Chairperson Rameshwor Yadav said almost all preparations have finished.

"There will be participation of over 10,000 people, including sadhus from different places," he claimed.

The campaign's Rautahat Coordinator Shailendra Singh said whether former crown princess Himani Shah will be present is yet to be confirmed.

Responding to journalists' query about the rationale behind the programme, the campaign's leaders Chhotelal Sah, Raju Hamal Thakuri, Sitaram Khatwe and others said the programme was aimed at creating support in favour of Hindu state and kingship.
