Four Covid-19 infected persons who were undergoing treatment in various hospitals died in the past 24 hours in Banke district.

According to Tej Oli, resource person at District Covid Crisis Management Center, three of the deceased are from Banke itself while one is from Bardiya.

A 20-year-old male of Baijanath Rural Municipality-2 in the district who was hospitalised on April 27 breathed his last during treatment at the Banke Hospital.

Similarly, a 27-year-old male of Rajapur Municipality-2 in Bardiya died at the Kohalpur Teaching Hospital. He was hospitalised on April 30.

Likewise, A 40-year-old woman of Kohalpur Municipality-11 was admitted to the Bheri Hospital on April 30 where she succumbed to the infection at around 8:00 pm Saturday.

Meanwhile, a 55-year-old male from Khajura Rural Municipality-3 who tested positive for the infection through an antigen test on April 30 died last night while undergoing treatment at the local isolation centre.

With this, a total of 242 people have lost their lives to Covid-19 in Banke, which has seen a sharp spike in Covid-19 infection with the start of the second wave of coronavirus.

Of them, 123 are reported to be from Banke while 119 from outside the district were receiving treatment here.
