RAJBIRAJ, MARCH 5

District Police Office, Saptari, has been receiving barrage of cases after proprietors of IME located at Saptari's Rajbiraj went out of contact by withdrawing remittance sent by the migrant workers.

IME proprietors Sunil Sindhi and Sanjay Sindhi have gone out of contact by shutting down their office and textile shop at Gajendra Chowk of Rajbiraj for the past three days.

DSP Buwanesor Prasad Sah said as many as 16 people had filed cases against Sindhi brothers for pocketing Rs 7.6 million from them.

Police have launched an investigation into the absconding Sindhi brothers. "The number of cases being registered against them is increasing.

So, we will find out the exact figure and expand the investigation," DSP Sah said.

When relatives of the migrant workers reached the IME office, they made various pretexts. Sometimes, they were told that the computer was not working while at other times, they were asked to come later citing technical glitches.

Police said Sindhi brothers might have absconded with millions of rupees as the cases on gold collateral too have been registered at the police office.
