DHARAN: Lumbini Province won the team championship of the National Kurash Tournament here at the Amar Sewa Samaj covered hall on Sunday.
Lumbini won 12 gold, six silver, and nine bronze medals to finish first, while Tribhuvan Army Club came second with four gold and three silver medals. Sudurpashchim Province was third with three gold, one silver and four bronze medals.
Sujit Paswan and Pratikshya KC were named the best players of the tournament. A total of 119 players from three departmental teams and four provinces took part in the tournament.
Former Chief Minister of Koshi Province Rajendra Rai, International Kurash Federation Acting Technical Director Ravi Kapoor and Nepal Kurash Association senior Vice-president Jeevan Rai and Dharan Ward No 13 Chairman Netra Prasad Kafle handed over the prizes to the winners.
