KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 19

After a grand success in Nepalgunj, Nepal's famous folk-rock band, Nepathya performed 'Music for Humanity' in Dhangadhi on Sunday.

Prior to the concert, two music videos were played in the big screen at the Dhangadhi Rangasala. The band stepped-in and took the center stage and kicked-off the much-awaited show with their ever green hit song 'Aaganivari Heunai Jhari.

On the occasion, band's lead singer and social activist Amrit Gurung interacted with the audiences and said, "When I am in Dhangadhi, it reminds me of my place in Kaski district."

After that, the band played folk-based songs hugely popular in Kaski region including 'Himal Chuchure', 'Lampate Surati', 'Chari Maryo' and 'Jomsom Bazaar Ma' among others.

Amrit Gurung also urged the audiences to be generous and support for the good cause initiated by Manavsewa Ashram.

The band's latest tour carries a social message of 'Music for Humanity' and aims to support Manavsewa Ashram, a social organization which provides shelter to the homeless.

At the rear-end of the concert, band entertained the crowd with their patriotic songs including 'Gaun Gaun Utha', 'Rato Ra Chandara Surya', among others.

As usual, Amrit was supported by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Subin Shakya on bass, Niroj Gurung on guitar and Shanti Rayamajhi on madals.

After the Dhangadhi concert, the band will travel with their entourage to Surkhet to perform at Khulamanch on December 21.
