KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 30

Nepal's famous folk-rock band Nepathya has released new music video for 'Naina Taala' as a Dashain souvenir to audiences across the globe.

Even though the song was not made officially public till date, it had been performed at various concerts many-a-times.

The song that was recorded in 2015 was incorporated in the band's 10th album.

Naina Taala was composed by Nepali soldiers in the battlefield during various wars, surrounded by fear and uncertainty, and brought it back to Nepal, which added different flavor to folk music.

'Naina Taala..............Naina Taala

Ghumi Ayo Rail

Ankha Ma Laune Kalo Gajal

Bul Bulle ma Tale........Naina Taala

Band's lead singer and social activist Amrit Gurung said, "Since childhood I have been hearing this song sung by my uncles and maternal uncles for years who had joined armies abroad," adding, "this song is one among the different flavors to have been added into our folk music."

Senior music composer Bikram Gurung said, "This song was particularly popular among the Bharitya Gorkha Regiment in India during those days." I had heard 'Naina Taala' for the first time in Dheradhun, Gurung said, referring to the year 1963 when he lived with his father in an army barrack, and was a primary school kid.

"Even today, when I hear the music of Naina Taala my feet begin to move spontaneously. I am really excited to know that Nepathya is presenting the song in new version to Nepali audience, that impacted my childhood immensely."

The video presents the natural images taken during the time of song recording, not the acting recorded in the camera. The song has been released in the Nepathya's official YouTube channel

All of Nepathya's songs are available in sportify, apple music, iTunes, Amazon and other digital stores.
