Pro Dinesh Prajapati and amateurs Samir Acharya, Col Pratap Bohra and Arjun Kumar Karki won the Pro- Am title of the Surya Nepal Premier Golf Championship here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

The winning team accumulated 162 points after Prajapati and Acharya earned 41 points each, while Col Bohra and Karki scored 40 apiece.

Pro Bhuwan Nagarkoti and his team of amateurs Tashi Tshiring, Ujjwal Pradhananga and Sunil Karki came second with 153 points. Amateur Tshiring scored 39 points, while Nagarkoti, Pradhananga and Karki earned 38 points each.

Likewise, Dharan pro Bal Bhadra Rai and amateurs Bhairaja Pandey, Kalsang Lodhe Sherpa and Raju Thakali finished third with 151 points. While pro Raiscored 37 points, three amateurs Panday, Sherpa and Raju Thakali earned 38 each.

Rekha Ghimire won the women's best individual award in count back after being tied on 34 points with Aaiesteena Tandan.

Ghimire Rekha earned 18 points on back nine, while Tandan scored 17. Mandeep KC and Bhairaja Pandey won the longest drive and closest-to-the-pin awards respectively.

A total of 135 golfers - 25 pros and 110 amateurs from corporate sector - took part in the event played under stableford 3/4 handicap format. Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd Managing Director Ravi Kumar Rayavaram, Vice-Presi-dent (Corporate) Ravi KC, Vice-President (Marketing) Dipra Lahiri, Vice-President (Finance) Vikas Bhutra, Professional Golfers Association Nepal President Rabindra Man Shrestha and Gokarna Golf Club President Suhrid Ghimire handed over the prizes to the winners.

On Friday, Nepal No 1 amateur golfer Subash Tamang won the Surya Nepal Golf Championship, the eighth and final event of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2022- 23. The 13th South Asian Games double gold medallist Tamang carded a career-best 21-under 267 in the 72-hole competition.Fellow national team member Sadbhav Acharya came second at 17-under 271.

Niraj Tamang finished first among pros and overall third with the score of 12-under 276. Sukra Bahadur Rai retained the No 1 status after he finished at top of the Order of Merit.
