Depiction of women's strength

Designer's name: Amit Baral

Label: Amit Baral

Collection: Shakti

All about the collection

Shakti is a depiction of women's strength via designs. After marriage, women make many sacrifices and adjust to a new family - I believe this to be a beautiful example of women's power, which I have tried to reflect through my designs.

This collection features lehenga, sari, and gown. One of our major focuses in this collection is on western bridal attire - it has been inspired by the fact that today's world is very much influenced by western fashion.

Every single design of this collection is handmade. And to represent women's strength, I have opted for dark colours - different shades of red, green and maroon have been dominantly used in the designs of this collection. We have also used kundan (Indian traditional gemstone jewellery) as accessory for this collection.

Being a part of TGIF Nepal Fashion Week 2022

I am from Pokhara, and I believe that designers from outside the Valley do not get the fame and recognition like those in Kathmandu. But TGIF Nepal Fashion Week, the biggest platform of fashion, can give that fame and recognition. Thus, I have chosen to participate in this fashion event to promote myself, enhance the fashion industry outside of the Valley. At the same time, I genuinely want to challenge myself as a designer.

A blend of modern and traditional

Designer: Pragya Chitrakaar

Label: Simrik Design Studio

Collection: Seven Chakras

All about the collection

My theme is spiritual as modern designs with traditional fabric are combined in this collection using seven colours - violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. There are a total of 20 designs in which 10 are for spring-summer, and 10 are for fall-winter.

Skirts, miniskirts, and backless coordinated sets will be on display for spring and summer, whereas lightweight jackets, long jackets, trend jackets, and feminine pants for winter.

Our line features very feminine, edgy, eye-catching, elegant, fluid, and balanced design elements.

Cotton is the fabric used in handcrafted clothing. And, accessories such as brass-golden plated jewelleries, and earrings are included.
